My focus is the intersection of branding, communications and new media. I am especially interested in creating community using technology. As often as possible I contribute to the discussion, below is a sampling of what I’m up to.

Community Projects

CaseCamp logo
I founded CaseCamp, the Canadian social media unconference with an innovative format and community focus. Launched in a grassroots fashion, CaseCamp has taken hold in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Second Life.

Presenters are leading innovators in social media, including PetroCanada, Royal Bank, Sears, Rocketboom,, Newmindspace, the Art Gallery of Ontario. Events receive broad coverage across the web.  CaseCamp Toronto has grown dramatically and has hosted hundreds at the five conferences held in its first year.

In summer 2007 announced an online video competition to describe Toronto.  We created three videos on a branded microsite, placing first and third by the judges.

Inspired by Toronto Bloggers’ recent call for community comments on the TTC’s website, and new TTC Chair Adam Giambrone’s receptivity to this approach, a core group of the Toronto BarCamp community gathered to brainstorm ways to better “The Better Way” and to increase the Commission’s engagement with its passionate community of users.
